Summer Vaca ’09 – Day 5

Not much sleeping in on this vacation. Mallory seems to be up and at ‘em every morning at 7:00, no matter how late she ends up asleep. We’re trying very hard to keep her on a schedule, but it just doesn’t seem to be working out.

While Mallory took her morning nap, Tim and his dad took Isaiah to Jackson Park to play. I forgot to send the camera with them. L I needed to reassemble Isaiah’s car seat after cleaning it. Surprisingly, putting it back together was much easier. I was a little nervous about having to do that when I was taking it apart. It’s a good thing the instruction manual was in the car!

Lunch was at a local buffet in Jackson – Delmonico’s. Oh. My. Goodness. YUMMY! The price was right, and the food was good. We’re not holding the freaky lady against the dining experience. She offered me her scarf to cover up so I could breastfeed my daughter in the restaurant. NO, I was NOT feeding her in the restaurant; she was just cranky unless she was being held. They had an electric train that went around a track set-up above the tables. That was a big hit with both Isaiah and Mallory.

Tim went fishing after lunch. He really enjoys getting out to Aaron’s pond. It was a good fishing day, so we’ve got plenty of fish to bring home.

Darrel, Bette, and I took the kids to the mall. Isaiah played at the Thomas table at Barnes and Noble – surprise, surprise. He actually cried when we left because he was having so much fun. After that Mallory took a nap; Isaiah never did fall asleep.

There is a pizza parlor in Cape that Tim really enjoys. Last year we couldn’t go because they were closed on the only day that we had available to go. Since we’ve had such good luck on this trip (NOT), we couldn’t go this year either! Believe it or not, they were closed because the owners are on vacation. We ended up at Pizza Inn to meet Tim’s sister Rachel and her husband Terry.
