Spring Fun

This year in Wisconsin, we didn't think winter would ever end. Here's what it looked like on April 19th:
Six days later...could it be? Is it possible? Is spring finally here??? We played outside on the deck, and I was able to get some adorable (if I do say so myself) pictures of Isaiah and Mallory.

A little fuzzy, but I love his smile. :)

It's always so difficult to get a good picture of the two of them together. Oh, well - it's still cute.

Back Seat Travelers

For most of any car trip, Isaiah and Mallory are pretty good passengers. They play with toys, eat snacks, and sometimes even take naps.

I can't believe how grown up Isaiah is looking. sigh...

Mallory discovered hamburgers (in the form of a White Castle) on our last trip to Minnesota.

Yummy! She now insists on ordering a hamburger whenever we eat out and says, "It's just like a White Castle!" What's up with one sleeve on and one sleeve off...???

In this video, Mallory is laughing hysterically. She was convinced that every single overpass we drove under was a tunnel. :) Notice one shoe on and one shoe off...I'm seeing a pattern here...

6th Target

6th Target

I am so glad that I have finished the required work for the six credits that I earned this school year. I can read.for.fun! YAY!

Today, I finished 6th Target by James Patterson. This book is the 6th - obviously - in a series of books about the Women's Murder Mystery Club. There are four women whose paths crossed in their professions, and now they are great friends working together and pooling resources to solve murder mysteries. The four main characters are Lindsay Boxer, homicide detective; Claire Washburn, head medical examiner; Yuki Castellano, assistant District Attorney; and Cindy (insert last name here - I forgot what it is), reporter for a major newspaper. All of the books take place in San Francisco, CA.

As I started reading this book, it seemed awfully familiar to me. Well, that's because I've read it before - a long time ago. I didn't intentionally check this book out of the library to read it again. It was on the shelf, I hadn't read one from this series in a while so I had forgotten where I had left off, and Mallory was with me. She was talking loudly, so I was trying to get her out of the library FAST.

I like that there were several cases going on at one time in this book. Even though this turned out to be a reread for me, I did enjoy it. The short chapters in James Patterson novels are great for a mom with young children. It's quite easy to find a stopping point at a moments notice.

Next up - Daniel Isn't Talking - a book about Autism that I borrowed from a friend.

In the future - more from the Women's Murder Mystery Club. I think the series is up to book 10 by now.

70 Years

The Werder side of Tim's family had a 70th Wedding Anniversary party for Tim's grandparents on the Saturday before Easter. We were not able to stay for the actual party because we had to be back in Appleton for the Sunrise Service on Easter morning. However, we did make a quick trip on Friday night/Saturday morning to wish the grandparents well.

After our visit with the grandparents, we went for lunch at the Pizza Ranch (of course) in Willmar. We met up with Tim's parents; Abby, Mark, Paul, and Hannah; and Nick, Jess, Hannah, and Ian.

As a prepared Mom, I brought along some trains for Isaiah so that we could visit with the adults.

It was a quick visit, but we sure were glad to be able to make the trip. We wish we had been able to stay longer! Thankfully, we have a summer Minnesota trip to look forward to!

Opening Day!

Our first ballgame of the year was the Home Opener at Miller Park. It was so.much.fun!

Check out the dancer in the corner. I'll have to crop her out when I scrapbook these pictures. LOL!

And who threw out the first pitch? The Super Bowl champions Packers, of course! This confused Mallory a little. She didn't know if she should be yelling, "Go Pack Go!" or "Go Brewers!"

Mallory was listening to last year's VBS music on my mp3 player.

We broke down and purchased a 9 game pack of tickets this year. Here is the view from our season seats.

Isaiah was either really into the game or a little hyper. I think it was a little of both...

Notice the Beauty and the Beast tatoo on our tough girl's arm. Yes, she has (had by now, actually) a tatoo. She went poop on the potty. WOO-HOO!

This is the last year that we don't have to pay for a seat for Little Miss. She would prefer it if we did, though. She didn't care for the fact that she didn't have her own seat. Sorry, kiddo.
