Sibling Love

"Mallory! Sister!"

"Hey! Come back here!"

We just got back from church. Ah...church with two little ones. Mom and Dad, did Jenny and I have tons of energy in church when we were little? I have memories of playing with hot wheels. I have memories of sitting on the kneeler and eating Cheerios. I also remember our trips to Schnucks or Jack in the Box afterwards! Then there's the time Dad yelled at me on our way to Jack in the Box for saying crap. HAHAHA It could have been worse, I suppose!

I do have memories of the church services, too. I didn't just play in church; I did pay attention. I can even remember by first communion and confirmation, though I couldn't tell you much about my Baptism. Perhaps because I was just a few weeks old. ;-)

Today is a busy day. We're going to a graduation party for one of the seniors from church. Tim and I are going out on a date tonight! Barb is coming to baby-sit, and we're going to dinner and in search of running shoes. Isn't that romantic?!?! hahaha

It's a Crime to Stay Inside

What a beautiful day! Tim stayed home with Isaiah while he took a nap, so Jen, Kamryn, Mallory, and I did a little running around this afternoon.

Hmmm... The bed probably would have been more comfortable!
When we got back home (from Archiver's, JoAnn Fabrics, Chili's - for a chips and salsa snack, and GNC - which is CLOSED inside the mall now), we decided to walk the kids down to Schaefer Park. We quickly discovered that the play set there is not really safe for toddlers, but there are swings!

Mallory had to join in the fun, too. How cute is that?!?!

Are You Online?

Because I am! Finally! We finally replaced the computer. Now I can get caught up on a lot of things. I better get started.

I'll start the blogging catch-up tomorrow after I've had a chance to download pictures from the digital camera. For now, it's too close to bedtime.

Be sure to check back tomorrow. I've got lots to share with you - a (minor) car accident, Mallory's 1st MLB game, Isaiah swimming with Daddy, Isaiah and Mallory playing together, Isaiah reading The Potty Train... The list goes on and on.

4 Month Well Baby

A quick update for you -

Mallory saw the doctor yesterday for her 4 month well baby check-up.

Here are her stats:

height - 23" 9th percentile
weight - 11 lbs. 11 ounces 10th percentile
head circumference - 40 cm 21st percentile

Doctor said that she is petite, but very healthy. :-) Yesterday, she rolled over (back to tummy) for the first time and enjoyed her first bedtime snack of rice cereal. Yum! I'll post pictures as soon as we figure out my computer situation.

Funny Story

I got home just a bit later from work today, so we decided to take a walk instead of going to the gym. The weather was nice, so why not?

At the intersection of Stoneybrook and Calumet streets we saw the Denmark Elementary Student Council caravan! They had been on a field trip to Wild Air and were on there way home. I saw a couple of my students waving frantically at me and got the attention of a colleague of mine to wave hello to her, as well. I hope you guys had a good time! How funny to run into you there! :-)

It was supper time, so we walked the kids to Charcoal Grill. It was buy one, get one free burger night, and a SUPER night to dine on the patio. The weather was perfect!

After supper, we walked across Calumet Street to pick up a few things at Wal Mart. Mallory has her 4 month well baby check-up tomorrow, and we're hopeful the doctor will let us start her on rice cereal. We bought a box to be prepared. Maybe then she'll sleep through the night.

Anyway, we bought our just-a-few items, including a bag of plain M&Ms for me. (It's what I crave while nursing. Strange, I know.) We got halfway home, and I asked Tim, "Did you pick up the bag of groceries?"

His response - "What? You didn't get it?"

So, back to Wal Mart we went. We were walking, remember?!?!

What can I say - it's Monday!

I'm Very Blessed Day

Today I'm feeling very blessed. I love my family more than I could ever put into words. I like to think of today as I'm Very Blessed Day, even though it's really Mother's Day. I feel as though I can honestly say that I thank God every day for blessing me with a wonderful husband and two children who add so much to our lives.

I look kind of silly here, but the kids sure do look cute!

We cherish every moment now while they still love each other! They don't have to share toys, yet...

The kids were exceptionally well behaved for church today. Mallory hung out in the Snugli, and Isaiah ate Eggo waffles during the sermon, so I got to listen to the entire thing! Pastor Seabaugh did a nice job - God is the vine, and we are the branches! Without that vine, those branches won't thrive. Per my request, we grilled ribeyes steaks for lunch today. I made baked beans and oven baked new potatoes and zucchini as side dishes. No need to make dessert! Cold Stone Creamery was offering free ice cream for mommies today! After walking there, we stopped at Derks Park on the way home, so Isaiah could play in the tunnels - a.k.a. tunnel slides. He chugs like a train on the way down; it is so cute!

Such a daddy's boy!
Mallory is 4 months old, as of last Friday. The time has really flown by! The acid reflux is still a bit of a problem, but she really is sleeping much better. Our photo studio by Mommy turned out really well! I'll share a few of the pictures with you, but I'm saving the best for her scrapbook. So, if you want to see them, you'll have to admire my scrapping talent - HAHA! All of my scrapping friends know how much I LOVE show-and-tell time on craft night!

She is like looking in the mirror for me.

Aunt Rachel, Mallory really enjoys this baby that you sent to her!

Happy Mother's Day!

Another Week

Another week begins!

The weather was absolutely beautiful this morning! The kids and I were up and ready early enough to walk to church this morning. We stopped at the Express station to get Tim a Sunday paper and myself a cappuccino. Gotta love gas station White Chocolate Caramel! Cheap and tasty!

Our Sunday School class was pathetically small. I have the best teacher in the world (my husband ;-), so I really don't know why more adults don't attend Sunday School at our church. Something to pray about, I suppose... We finished up the Just Walk Across the Room series. Pretty soon we'll be on Sunday School break for the summer. Another thing I don't understand - why does Sunday School stop during the summer months?

Isaiah was playing so well and having such a good time in the nursery that I left him there during the church service. Church is really difficult for me with two little ones, so I didn't feel too guilty leaving him in there. It's not like I do that every week; actually, this was the first time that I let him sit out of church since he was home sick with RSV in January. I'm sure there's no permanent damage.

After church there was a family event - hamburger & hot dog lunch with a juggler. Dan Kirk did a fantastic job! I have actually seen him perform at an assembly at school before. It was really cool to see his show with the Christian element added in. Isaiah seemed to enjoy it, even if he was having melt down periods because he desperately needed a nap (which never happened). Did I mention that Isaiah ate THREE hot dogs for lunch? WOW! I'm going to need to find a second job so that we can afford to feed him!

Not much was happening this weekend. I took my computer in to the Geek Squad at Best Buy. It's official; I need a new computer. The geeks sent me home with a sale ad. The price to fix my computer would not be worth it. To put more money into it when I could buy new for just a bit more makes more sense. The fans are kaput which explains why it continually shuts itself off. So, I'll be computer-less for awhile. We're going to do some shopping around and try to hold out for the Memorial Day sales. My blogging, tweeting, Facebooking, and e-mailing will be pretty sparse from now until I get a new 'puter. (I'm using Tim's right now; he brings it home from the office on the weekends.)

Sorry this is so long. A quick Green Mill pizza update before I go - Tim e-mailed the company pictures of our pizza. They replied back with a very nice apology, and they're sending us 2 coupons for free frozen pizzas and a gift card to their restaurant! Sweet!

Happy week people,
becky
