Busy Weekend!

Well, earlier this weekend, I posted that Mallory is now often found standing up in her crib. She has been quite the busy little bee this weekend! We've been working on first words. I think I've heard Mama come out - usually when she's mad and wants something. At dinner, we managed to get Dada on video!

We've also been working on crawling. Why, I don't know. I no longer find her in the same place when I set her down. But, it is still exciting! She's not crawling across the room, yet, but there is definite movement there!

Stuck Up

Our daughter was stuck up tonight.

I put Mallory to bed, and then I heard her jabbering a few minutes later. I went upstairs to check on her, and found her standing in her crib! She couldn't figure out how to lay back down, so she was calling for help. Thank goodness we had already lowered the crib mattress!

Yes, I let my daughter go to bed for the night in her dress. Some nights I'm just too worn out to bother with changing her into jammies. :) It's tough being a working mom! It's like having two full time jobs.

65 Candles

Tim's parents came to visit last weekend. While they were here, we had a surprise birthday party for my MIL.

Just like Mommy, Mallory had her first cottage cheese at The Machine Shed - YUMMY! Baby food was no longer interesting at this meal.

Day Care Woes

Isaiah and Mallory started at their new school the last week of August. All four of us absolutely love it, but things aren't always rosy...

It is INCREDIBLY expensive. We should be allowed to live in the building because we pay more each month for childcare than we do for our mortgage. I can't complain about that too much, though, because my children are much more precious to me than my house - even though it is really important to have a home to live in. We can say that we're getting what we pay for. They do some pretty impressive things at school.

Isaiah has already been out sick with a fever. Mallory missed most of this week because another baby in her class was learning to share and started by sharing croup with her. When the kids are out, we still have to pay their full tuition.

Isaiah got bit. I guess it's better that he was bitten that the one doing the biting...? I would have been so upset and embarrassed if he had bitten another child! We're hoping he doesn't learn this behavior from friends at school...

I had to sign an incident report when I picked him up. :(

Again, we really do love their new school. Just like everything in life, though, things aren't always perfect.

Eight Months

I am super proud of these pictures. I posted so many because it was too difficult to choose just a few. With Photo Studio By Mommy, there are no expensive photo packages, and I get to keep all of the proofs. :)

New Perspecitve

Mallory has a new perspective on things. She can't stand by herself yet, but she works really hard with some support. My sister bought this Leap Frog toy for Isaiah. It is now one of Mallory's favorites!

Labor Day Weekend

We had quite a busy weekend. Tim and the kids picked me up at work on Friday afternoon, and we were off to Milwaukee. We stopped at a Pizza Ranch in Oostburg on the way down for supper. YUMMY! We timed it just right, making it to Miller Park just before the first pitch. We had earned free tickets from BP Gas Station for getting 6 fill-ups. Friday night's game was against the Giants.

We stayed over night in a hotel since it was a night game. LaQuintas are like camping in a tent if you ask me. Blach. I think I can officially say that I am hotel spoiled.

We went home right after breakfast on Saturday. After church on Sunday, we were on the road to Milwaukee again. This time we stayed just north of Chicago. Shopping was a HUGE mistake. The mall was packed with INCREDIBLY rude people. People should be fined for walking very slowly and four across.

We were hoping for something special for supper, and we found it! Portillo's/Barnelli's is one of our favorite restaurants in downtown Chicago. We found one in the town of Vernon Hills!

After supper, Tim and Mallory decided to wind down and read the paper.

This afternoon was our last baseball game of the season. One last game while Isaiah is still free - haha. Did I mention the Cardinals won? :-)
