Little Helper

Isaiah has always loved his tubby, but it has taken Mallory a little bit longer to get used to it. I think I finally figured out what was going on. When I put her in her tubby, she would cry because she didn't know where her brother was. Well, problem solved - Isaiah now helps and there are no more tears!

And, of course, after Mallory is all clean, Tuck and Ming Ming need to get washed up, too! Isaiah dropped Linny in the toilet when he was sitting on it, so he had a special disinfectant bath from me.

Isaiah's has a fondness for trains. I recorded a cute Dora episode on my TiVO about trains for him. He does a superb imitation of the trains. Check out the veins in his neck - LOL!

Mallory is such a sweet baby! When I look at this picture, I can hear her thinking, "Oh no!" just like her big brother says. (He really does say that; it's hilariouis!)

So Much Fun

Not much is going on at the Seabaugh's today. Tim is cleaning bathrooms, and I'm working on floors. Isaiah is (supposed to be) napping, and Mallory is laying in her pack-n-play watching the animals dangle overhead.

I'm feeling so blessed today! I hope this good mood keeps up; it's much more fun than being grumpy.

This year I've decided to give something up for Lent. Tim's sermon last week got me thinking - if I'm going to do this, then I should do something that will bring me closer to God. I have decided not to gossip. Let's be honest, people. We all do it to some extent. Hopefully, it will become a habit and continue after Easter. So, if you try to gossip with me don't be offended when I clam up.

By the way, does anyone know the difference between venting and gossiping? Is there even a difference?

Mallory is getting so big! I took this picture of her lying in my lap, and it's amazing to me the changes in her that we are already noticing. I love this outfit - it's on loan from Kamryn. Thank you, Kamryn! I know your mommy is enjoying to see all of your outfits worn again! Mallory is still in a newborn size, but I think we're ready for 0-3 months! Can you see the shoes with this outfit? They are AdOrAbLe!!! They were a gift from a couple at church. Here's a close-up in case you can't see them...

Tim's parents were in town last weekend for Mallory's Baptism. Bette (Tim's mom) has a sister, Judy, that lives in Sturgeon Bay, so we went up to visit her and her husband Barry on Monday. We had a great visit with them, and Barry was so kind to get out his train set for Isaiah. Boy, was he excited!!!

Cleaning Day #1

That's right - today is only cleaning day #1. I've got at least another day ahead of me. My house isn't that disgusting; it just takes a really long time to clean when I've got Isaiah and Mallory at home with me.

Today I'm starting with the bedrooms. I always clean the bedrooms first when I clean house. As I clean the rest of the house, a lot of the things that are misplaced in wrong rooms belong in one of our bedrooms. If our bedrooms are clean when I put these things away, then I am more motivated to actually put them away where they belong instead of just throwing them on the bed. By starting with the bedrooms, I also ensure that they are actually cleaned and not just have their doors shut when people come over.

So, why am I cleaning? I have a couple of reasons. First, it needs to be done. Second, Mallory's Baptism is this Sunday, so we're having a (very) small party for her here on Saturday afternoon. Third, Tim's parents and Aaron are coming in town for the Baptism and Aaron is staying with us.

Out of the House!

Words cannot express how happy we are to be out of the house. It is wonderful to have everyone healthy again!

This morning, Jen and I took Kamryn and Mallory to Kohl's. Tim took Isaiah to work for the morning. I wanted to get something new to wear for Mallory's Baptism on Sunday. I also wanted to get Isaiah...UNDERWEAR! Yea! We'll give those a try when we're back on our regular routine next week after the Baptism. I had a 30% off coupon, and I just couldn't let that go to waste!

Next we were off to church for Wednesday morning play group. Jen invited us to go along to McDonald's for lunch, but we had some time before that. She very kindly offered to watch both kids so I could run to Target and pick up a few things. Jen is great!

But, wait! The day is not over yet! I'm trying to blog and scarf down dinner because we're off to church tonight to help out with Spaghetti Dinner prep.

Tuesday's Fun

Yesterday, we took advantage of the nice weather and went for a walk.

I put Isaiah in the stroller, and he said in an excited voice when he saw her, "My sister!"


Isaiah, Mallory, and I enjoyed our walk, lunch, and play time with Kamryn and Jen, but Isaiah was beat by the end of the day.

When we got home, though...no nap. Ugh. At least he went to bed early.

Wickedly Wicked

One of my Christmas presents from Tim was 2 tickets to see the Broadway musical Wicked. I teased him and said, "Gee who should I take with me?" :-)

Our tickets were for the evening show yesterday. I had quite a bit of separation anxiety before we left. (I have NO IDEA how I'm going to be able to go back to work, but I'm not allowing myself to worry about that just yet.) I made it through dinner okay, but I actually cried at the PAC before the show started because I was missing Isaiah and Mallory. How pathetic am I?!?! (You don't have to answer that. It was a rhetorical question.) Not to worry - I did just fine as soon as the show started.

We started our evening with dinner at Beefeaters. This was our second time eating there. The first time was last August with Tim's parents. We had a great meal that night, but last night's meal was not very good at all. We both got fish and chips. There was too much batter on the fish, and it was over-cooked on the outside and mushy on the inside. The french fries (chips) were also over-cooked. It took a looooong time to get our food, and the restaurant was not very crowded at all. Gordan Ramsay would be very, very disappointed. Tim and I were laughing as we waited for our food because we were both thinking, "Gordan would be really unhappy with the service and the food!" I guess we watch too many of his shows.

After dinner, it was time to head to the show. Our seats were fantastic. We were seated in the first balcony in the front row. It was a perfect view; there were no heads to look around. I'm not even going to try to describe the show. It was absolutely amazing! The actors had such talent, and the writing was great. There were many laugh-out-loud moments, and the music and special effects will haunt our thoughts for a long time. If you have an opportunity to snatch up a ticket - GO SEE THE SHOW!!!

The storyline was fantastic. I don't want to go into to much detail because I don't want to ruin it for you. All I'll say is that I will never watch The Wizard of Oz the same again. I'll be watching it from a completely different perspective. It was impressive how the writer made the story work with the original. I noticed one little flaw, but I don't want to spoil the show for anyone. (Tim heard someone talking about the same flaw as we were leaving.)

Just a quick side note - Isaiah went pee-pee on the potty before Sunday School yesterday and again today before his nap! The great part is he went almost immediately; we didn't have to hang out in the bathroom for 30 minutes before he finally decided to go. :-)

Jen and I are going to step aerobics tonight. I'm going to go conserve some energy so that I don't look like such a wimp...

It's Been...

...one month since my Pretty Princess was born!

Growing too fast...

It's also been one year today since I started blogging! I enjoy blogging as much as I do scrapbooking. In fact, it's almost like a digital scrapbook! It will certainly come in handy when I need to go back to check dates on things.

Tim went to a UW-Green Bay basketball game last night with a group from church. My friends Jen and Jodie came over to keep me and the kids company. Kamryn and Isaiah had fun together, and we enjoyed take out from Red Robin. I made Indulgent Brownie Torte - oh my goodness! I had Jen take picture of it for me before we cut into it. YUM!!! It was great with a tall glass of milk.

Isaiah just went down for his nap. I was a little sad putting him to sleep because Tim and I will be out when he wakes up. We have a sitter coming so that we can go to dinner and the theater. Tim got me tickets to see Wicked at the Fox Cities PAC (Performing Arts Center) for Christmas. I'm very excited to go, but I'm having trouble with the thought of leaving my kids for the evening. I can tell that I've gotten used to being home. I know that I deserve a break. I know that I deserve a night out. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to miss my babies!!!

Happy and Healthy

I am happy to report that we are all (mostly) healthy! I say mostly because Mallory still has the occasional coughing spell, but she is doing so much better.

We don't really have much of a routine at this point. Isaiah is my alarm clock. I really like it when he sets his wake up time past 8:00, but this doesn't happen too often. With Mallory feeling better, we're sleeping more in between her night feedings. Like I mentioned earlier, she still wakes up coughing every once in a while, but I'm feeling rested when we wake up for the day.

The weather is going to be much warmer this weekend. I am so grateful for that! I've got pork steaks and chicken to marinate so that we can grill. Maybe some of the snow will melt!

Mallory is not quite old enough for the child care at the gym. (OK by me - we think this is where Isaiah picked up RSV.) As soon as she's 6 weeks old, Tim and I will be able to work out together again. That will be so much nicer than having to take turns, though I hope my workout buddy Jen can still go with me! Tim isn't allowed in the Lady Gold's room. :-) I can do a light workout now, and the intensity can go back up after my 6 week postpartum check at my OB's office.

Mallory is still sleeping a lot during the day. Some days she wants to be held more than other days. She's starting to get comfortable napping in the pack-n-play. Isaiah has become quite the turkey when it comes to napping and bed time. I think he's afraid he's going to miss something with Mallory. He doesn't like to be away from the baby, which is really cute until it's time for him to go to sleep.

Pee-Pee Time!

Last Saturday, I went to Babies R Us and bought Isaiah his potty chair.

His initial reaction was not too good.

He warmed up pretty quickly, though.

For the past two nights in a row, he's even gone potty before bed in it!!! We've still got a looooong way to go, but it's a start.

Chop, Chop

It's kind of hard to see in this picture, but I have a new hair cut.

Monday night, Jen and I went to her hair salon for hair cuts. It was great! I'm really happy with the cut, and the head and hand massage were very relaxing.

Monday was a long day for the kids (cranky!), so I really needed to be pampered. I even scheduled my next cut.

After styling it myself it looks a little different. (I don't have a flat iron, and that's what she used on my hair.) I still LOVE my new cut. It takes so much less time to blow dry.

Super Bowl SUNDAY

So we're at home watching the Super Bowl right now. We had planned to watch it at church with friends, and we had a couple of invitations to other friends' homes. Isaiah is probably well enough to go, but we're not quite ready to take Mallory out. (She's still having some pretty rough coughing spells, sometimes followed by a little vomiting if she's eaten recently. Don't worry, though! She's staying hydrated.)

I got to thinking about how today is the Lord's day. We're supposed to rest today, right? Well, I've decided that I'm never going to be caught up on all of the things that need to be done. Therefore, on Sundays I'm going to allow myself time on my hobbies. That's right, people. The housework can wait. School work can wait. Laundry can wait. I'm never going to scrapbook if I don't make the time.

Enjoy the Super Bowl and commercials. I haven't been too impressed with the commercials so far; hopefully, they'll improve.

For now Isaiah is coloring, Mallory is being held by her daddy, Tim is watching the game and yelling, "Come on!" a lot, and I'm off to work on Isaiah's scrapbook.
