Help Has Arrived!

When we put our house on the market, my mom came to help get it ready for Open Houses and showings.  (You can read about that visit here and here.)  This past summer, she was gracious enough to come help us pack and get ready for the move.  While she was here, we took some time out for fun stuff, too.  I've promised her ONLY fun, and NO WORK when she comes back this summer.

Love a photo bomb, especially by such a cutie!

We were sad to leave the pear tree in our back yard.  We couldn't resist a little fun - and picking it dry - in the days before our move.

I Cleaned My Room!

It is a LOT of work having our house on the market.  Fortunately, Mallory is quite the little helper!  :)  She cleaned her room one day - all by HERSELF!

SHE EVEN MADE THE BED!!!

It's like I never left!

Mom: I'll wash.

Jenny: I'll dry.

Becky: I'll put away.

Some things will always stay the same. :)

Blizzard Aiden

Well, if today had been a school day, it would have been a snow day for sure! I have yet to find out how many inches of snow Blizzard Aiden brought to Appleton, but the bigger problem is the wind blowing it all around!

Tim woke up early to clear the driveway, so he could get to church. Unfortunately, betweeen the time he cleared it and took a shower, the snow blow came by and buried in the end of the driveway. (Hate it when that happens!) Tim was able to drive his car through it and make it to church on time, though.

This storm caused the roof to collapse on the Metrodome in Minneapolis! Thank goodness no one was injured!

Early training for the boy chores...

How cute is that?!

Cleaning Day #1

That's right - today is only cleaning day #1. I've got at least another day ahead of me. My house isn't that disgusting; it just takes a really long time to clean when I've got Isaiah and Mallory at home with me.

Today I'm starting with the bedrooms. I always clean the bedrooms first when I clean house. As I clean the rest of the house, a lot of the things that are misplaced in wrong rooms belong in one of our bedrooms. If our bedrooms are clean when I put these things away, then I am more motivated to actually put them away where they belong instead of just throwing them on the bed. By starting with the bedrooms, I also ensure that they are actually cleaned and not just have their doors shut when people come over.

So, why am I cleaning? I have a couple of reasons. First, it needs to be done. Second, Mallory's Baptism is this Sunday, so we're having a (very) small party for her here on Saturday afternoon. Third, Tim's parents and Aaron are coming in town for the Baptism and Aaron is staying with us.

Here's a couple of bonus pictures. Isaiah and Mallory have been so good today. It's only lunchtime, and Isaiah's room and our room are already clean!
