Self Motivation...Where Can I Get Some of That?

Time really flies, doesn't it?

I have such good intentions every weekend. We usually start Saturday morning with a family breakfast. Our latest favorite has been breakfast burritos. Once the dishes are in the dishwasher, I get the laundry moving. It's amazing how quickly the laundry stops moving. I intend to get caught up. It just never seems to happen.

There are so many things that I want to get done before the baby comes. I'm sure it will be difficult to find the time for 90% of the things on that list. Maybe I'm being too pessimistic. I need to take baby steps. What I need to do is start making trip after trip to Goodwill to get all of the things that we no longer use out of this house. I don't want to call it junk because some of it is quite nice. I'm just realistic - I'll probably never wear those size 4/pre-pregnancy jeans again. After this gestational diabetes diet, though, who knows?! I just might. If I one day...hmmm...WHEN I one day fit into a size 4 again, I deserve to buy new jeans for all of my hard work.

Comment and let me know how YOU get yourself motivated to get things done. (And if you don't, what do you spend your time doing instead of those pesky tasks like laundry?)

If I had a ton of things to do before a deadline, I would make a list and prioritize. Perhaps on a "Must Do", "Good to Do", "Wish to Do" and "Only a Miracle will get this done" basis.

There have been days where I just make sure that I have a clear calendar and determinedly tackle a big project and don't finish until it's done. I know you don't have that luxury, but sometimes if you have a four-hour block of free time, you'd be amazed at what you can get done.

If you need Good Will support, let me know. I was going through some of my things today and realized that I need to force myself to do some sorting and take a donation trip. There are some things I know I will never use again ...

I make a list of Thigns to get done, and cross them off as I complete them. The motivation part for me is to turn on the radio and drink some caffiene, I know you can't drink the caffiene part. And I make sure I take a break half way through to re-energize. Once I start I am pretty much motivated and dtermied to keep going until it is finished. Good Luck! See you tomorrow at church. :)

I am definitely all about making lists. From grocery lists to things to do today lists. That always keeps me focused and try to get things accomplished. I try and make it a point that if I pick something up I need to put it in it's place or find a place for it and not just make another pile somewhere to get at it later.

I know I always feel better when I have a decluttered home when I want to scrapbook or do something fun. Something that I want to do and not be in that "have to do it" mode.

Well, those of you who know me know that I am big on lists as well. My motivation for completing those lists, though is picturing the satisfaction I will feel when the list has been taken care of. We have so many lists right now, though with the selling of the house and such that I am a bit overwhelmed and need some motivation...actually, I think my husband needs some motivation. Keep it up, Becky...baby steps will make a big difference. Don't try to tackle too much all at once. Do enjoy your family time...
