Summer Vaca ’09 – Day 4

We slept pretty well at the Comfort Suites. The breakfast was okay, and Tim and I are feeling better than we did yesterday. Today is a big driving day. Tonight we stop in Jackson, MO at Tim’s parents’ house. (Jackson is near Cape Girardeau.) We hit the road about 9:30ish. There always seems to be construction when we drive thru Rockford, IL, but it wasn’t too bad.

Isaiah gets just a bit antsy in the car. His foot hit the window control, and his window rolled down on the highway. This caused his sun shade to blow right out of the car. Whoops! He also kicked his sister in the face. Mallory was NOT happy about that. No harm done, other than ticking her off, thank goodness.

Lunch at Wendy's
There it is! See, I told you that I have lots of pictures of the Arch!
We made really good time. Isaiah took a nap, and woke up very unhappy just south of St. Louis. Just as we pulled into Week’s Diner in Ste. Genevieve, he threw up all over himself. GROSS! Fortunately, we were meeting Tim’s parents, his brother-in-law Mark, and nephew and niece Paul and Hannah. I say fortunately because Tim’s parents have a car seat in their car. We borrowed that since Isaiah’s was so nasty.
Dinner at Week’s Diner was really good barbeque that our tummies handled nicely. I think it’s safe to say that the food poisoning is behind us! WOO-HOO!
Paul and Hannah
Afterwards, we went to the rec center in Ste. Gen to watch Paul play tee ball. The outfielders were too cute! I think the batters were playing tee ball, and the outfielders were playing tackle football.
Tee ball, yo!

Isaiah was a much happier camper in the car on the way to Jackson. We were really nervous about putting him back in the car, but I rode in the backseat with the kids and sang children’s songs for about an hour. (You’re welcome, Tim. HAHA) Isaiah thought my long vowel song about apples and bananas was hilarious.
I can tell that we’re on vacation because I no longer know what day it is. We’ll see what tomorrow brings. Hopefully none of us will be throwing up! I think that’s a good goal to have.
